Every Renaissance comes to world with a cry. The cry of the human spirit to be free.

7 months in Amsterdam, 5 months on the road

I am following my cry for a life in freedom, simplicity and (inner) adventures. My goal is to – as of 2026 – do my in-person programs (this, this and this in The Netherlands from April to November and travel to different kinds of Buddhist retreats, Silent retreats, Back-to-Nature retreats… etc. the other 5 months. I feel a deep urge to practice Buddhism more in daily life. So my drive is to live an increasingly simpler life, slowly getting rid of a lot of my belongings and pass away empty when I am old. I hopewith a heart full of love and leaving a legacy of plenty good deeds behind.

How will I work?

My Online Programs will run the entire year. Being a filmmaker too, I – of course – will make films of my experiences before/during/after those retreats and I will share my ‘lessons learned’ about living off-grid and back to nature in those 5 months as well. I will keep on doing my work in the other 7 months as I’ve been doing this the past 13 years: from my home in the Jordan area in Amsterdam where I’ve been living for 23 years now. The other months I will live from my – yet to be purchased and custom built – mobile office slash filmstudio slash massage-therapy room slash training/coaching space in a camper. I don’t know how my Renaissance Vehicle for Life will show up eventually, but I know it’s not going to be a disastrous tin can with lots of maintenance. I am past that age where I am okay with sleeping in leaking tents, sharing dorms with other travellers in beds full of flees and drive lousy cars that present me with trouble on every corner of the street. This is the only material quality I desire. More important; I will have my one and only dearest dog Bobbie with me and for her I want the best too. I am not ruling out I might move permanently to this home on wheels, so it’s going to be big and comfortable and for at least the next 15 years (I’ll turn 70 in 2037). The goal is to leave The Netherlands for the first time in November 2026. Not sooner

What’s in it for you?

You can follow me in two ways: a free content subscription (RSS) with general updates from the blogs OR a paid content subscription (for the price of a quality magazine per month) which serves as an ongoing Online Training too. Think subjects like: fulfulling your dreams, living a life according to your deepest desires, how to go back to nature, what to learn from these retreats… Read more about that below. Or when you’re just wayyyy too curious and you know you will not get enough satisfaction from the main free content only. You can cancel both subscriptions any time you like.

The plain fact is that the planet does not need more successful* people. But it does desperately need more peacemakers, healers, restorers, storytellers, and lovers of every kind. It needs people who live well in their places. It needs people of moral courage willing to join the fight to make the world habitable and humane. And these qualities have little to do with success as we have defined it.
